ACI 4.x と 5.x の Smart License 認証画面の違い

Cisco ACI はバージョン 3.2(1) から Smart License 認証が導入されています。 最新のバージョン 5.2 (4) 系では SLUP (Smart License Using Policy) に対応しましたが、現時点ではいずれのバージョンであってもライセンス認証は必須では無く、仮に「インターネットに接続出来ない環境」「On-Prem サーバも導入出来ない」などの理由からライセンス認証出来ていない場合でも機能的な制限はありません。

ACI 4.x 系

バージョン 4.x 系の場合、Smart License の設定画面には以下の表記があります。「 ** There is no functionality change if evaluation period expires.** 」と明記されています。

• Ensure this product has access to the internet or a Smart Software Manager satellite installed on your network.
• Log in to your Smart Account in Smart Software Manager or your Smart Software Manager satellite.
• Navigate to the Virtual Account containing the licenses to be used by this Product Instance.
• Generate a Product Instance Registration Token (this identifies your Smart Account) and copy or save it.
• There is no functionality change if evaluation period expires.

認証方式の設定画面は以下の通りです。

ACI 5.x 系

バージョン 5.x 系の場合、Smart License の設定画面には以下の表記があります。 「ライセンス認証されていない場合の機能制限」に関する記載は無くなりました。

• Ensure this product has either access to the internet, a Smart Software Manager On-Prem, a Cisco Smart License Utility, or a Transport Gateway is installed on your network.
• For Direct Connect, Transport Gateway or HTTP/HTTPs Proxy, a product instance ID token is required. You can log on your Smart Account in Smart Software Manager and navigate to a Virtual Account to obtain a product instance ID token.
• For Smart Software Manager On-Prem, you need to log on Manager On-Prem to obtain a URL.

認証方式の設定画面は以下の通りです。

新たに Offline という選択肢が増えています。 これは公式ドキュメントである Cisco ACI Smart Licensing using Policy では以下のように書かれています。

Offline: Specifies that Cisco APIC does not have any network connectivity with the CSSM, either directly or indirectly. With this mode, you must manually generate RUM reports and manually send the reports to the CSSM. You do not need to enter any information.

これをそのまま理解するのであれば「手動で RUM レポートを送信する必要がある。 但し、ACI 自体には何も情報入力する必要は無い」と読めます。
